It seems that everyone looking to lose weight wants to get skinny quick. One can lose weight quickly, but it always has to be done in the right way. Here are some tips that you can begin to use today to lose those stubborn pounds:

Like so many of us, you're not happy with your body. Whether you have a larger than normal midsection or you just plain want to lose weight, but don't know where to start, getting skinny fast can be a tricky business. After all, it's far harder to lose the weight than it was to gain it. Food tastes great, and starving yourself doesn't look very appealing.

If your aim is to get skinny fast, there are a couple of things you're going to have to do first. Like a war, it's better to take the battle to the enemy on multiple fronts!

Alcohol A beer belly is called that for a reason. Alcohol slows your metabolism, and each beer you drink (or alcoholic beverage) is loaded with excess calories. If you want to get skinny fast, you're going to have to cut back on any drinking you do, and replace the fizz with water. Water helps to flush the body of toxins, and is essential if you want to lose weight.

Burger Anyone? Eating at fast food restaurants is a huge problem in North America and around the world. Fast food burgers, fries, colas and treats are all filled with calories that your body just packs away for later use. If you want to get skinny fast stay away from fast food at all costs. Eat at home, and monitor your caloric intake. Have a salad, or some chicken breast. Not only will you save a few extra dollars, but you'll drop weight in huge amounts.

It's also important not to starve yourself. While starving your body of food may lose you some weight, it also slows your metabolism, and the next time you eat, your body will store as much of it away as it can. Eat smaller portions than you normally would, but eat five or six times a day. Each portion or meal that you eat should be about the size of the palm of your hand.

Exercise as Much as You Can Take a walk after dinner and marvel at the colors of the setting sun. Plan a hike on the weekend or take up a sport that you've always admired from afar. There are a myriad of exercises out there that don't require you to go to a gym. Just pick one or try several, and watch as the fat sloughs from your body.

Of course, the gym never hurt anyone either. It's a fact that there is no better way to get skinny fast than resistance training. Weight training builds muscle, and boosts your metabolism.
