Learn the Quick Way to Lose Weight and Keep it Off

Do you want to lose weight quickly? You can see results pretty quickly if you follow the right weight loss program, but of course there's a healthy way to do it as well as an unhealthy way!
Fad or crash diets are definitely not the way to go because usually they work in a way that they get the weight off initially, but because your metabolism has dropped so dramatically, you will put the weight back on as soon as you resume a normal eating pattern. In many cases, you end up weighing more than when you started. That sounds like a waste of time to me!
To lose weight you must work on increasing your metabolism, and the best way to to that is to build muscle through exercise and to eat the right foods.
The steps below will get you well on your way to seeing results within a couple of weeks - as long as you stick to them.
1. Eat every 3 hours or so, starting with breakfast. Never, ever skip meals, and especially not breakfast! Kick start that metabolism and keep it up!
2. Eat foods high in protein such as meat, chicken and fish. Team this with plenty of vegetables, some complex carbs and of course fruit. Whole foods (food found in it's original state) take a lot more energy for your body to break down and therefore your body burns more calories.
3. Avoid processed foods - these aren't good for you and they require a limited amount of energy to break down, therefore not boosting your metabolism.
4. Be sure you're eating the right number of calories for your age, weight and height. A Basal Metabolic Rate calculator will help you here. If your calorie intake is too low, your metabolism will drop - not good if you want it to go up so your body burns more calories! Of course eating too many calories will also help you to gain weight rather than lose it.
5. Do the right kind of exercises - My exercise regime consists of the following:
- 15 minutes of resistance training, 3 times a week. This will consist of exercises like squats, pushups, weights, lunges, step ups, and lots more.
- 15 minutes of intervals training, 3 times a week. This will consist of running down the street for 30 seconds, followed by 1 minute of walking to regain my breath, alternating for 15 minutes. I will eventually build this up to 1 minute of walking with 1 minute of running.
I can vary this routine by alternating jumping rope with marching on the spot, or using an elliptical trainer, or even jogging on a treadmill. Either way I need to increase my heart rate then allow myself to get my breath back.
So in summary, you need to eat healthy, whole foods 5 to 6 times a day (every 3 hours or so, starting with breakfast) and exercise for 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week (or even 15 minutes a day, 6 times a week!) to see dramatic weight loss results in a short space of time.
