I’m referring to not getting enough fruits and vegetable in your daily diet in order to have the best health and being careful to not be too sedentary.</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Researchers tell us we need 13 servings a day of fruit and vegetables since they assist in lowering serious diseases like cancer and heart disease. Sometimes, doctors do not share this information perhaps due to a simple lack of training, office visits being quite hurried, etc. Here are the top issues some doctors may not discuss or be aware of:</div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left: 45.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;"><!--[if !supportLists]-->1.<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span><!--[endif]-->The connection between weight and waist size. Obesity, as everyone knows puts anyone at high risk for high blood pressure, diabetes, as well as host of other medical problems. Sometimes, some doctors may not be paying attention to what researchers are finding. For instance, in a recent study of over 12,835 obese or overweight patients, 58% said they never talked to their doctor about their weight. This is quite sad because it has been found that when doctors and patients do discuss obesity, the patient many times will become committed to losing the fat and weight.</div><div class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left: 45.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .5in;">One of the best precautionary measures you can follow to monitor your weight and fat is to determine your own body mass index. A BMI of 18.5-24.9 is ideal if you are 65 or younger and a BMI of 22-27 is ideal if you are 66 or older. </div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .5in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .5in;">In addition, keep track of your waist size. If you have more than a 35 inch waist as a woman or 40 inch waist if you are a man, this means you have too much abdominal fat. This in turn increases the likelihood of your developing heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .5in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin-left: 45.0pt; mso-add-space: auto; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -.25in;"><!--[if !supportLists]-->2.<span style="font: 7.0pt "Times New Roman";"> </span><!--[endif]-->Limit television. Most doctors to recommend to their patient that they exercise if they are overweight, but few recommend decreased time spent watching TV. If you are someone who watches more than two hours of TV a day, you have a higher risk of developing things like obesity, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease. Ideally, you should not be watching more than 2 hours of TV a day. </div><div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin-left: 45.0pt; mso-add-space: auto;"><br /></div><div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast">It is interesting to note that also those who live a very sedentary lifestyle (e.g. lots of time at desk or computer) are at higher risk for developing these diseases as well. The bottom line is being as active as possible.</div>If you are seeking effective weight loss tips for women over 40, ideally one of the best things you can do is become educated. Learn the questions you need to ask. If you do this, you and your doctor can work closely together to help you achieve your weight and fat loss goals.<br /><br /><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; line-height: 19px;">Train Hard! Lead researcher, Dr.Elaine Hardman set out to determine the effect of a typical diet and awalnut-enhanced diet through an entire lifespan. Scientists examined dietarynutrition supplied by the mother through conception and weaning and then byeating walnuts directly. Mice are frequently used for this type of researchbecause they follow similar patterns of breast cancer carcinogenesis whencompared to humans.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Dr. Hardman found that the groupwhose diet included walnuts from conception to late life developed breastcancer at less than half the rate of the group consuming a typical diet. Ofthe results, she <a href="http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/09/110901163921.htm">commented</a><i>“These reductions are particularlyimportant when you consider that the mice were genetically programmed todevelop cancer at a high rate... we were able to reduce the risk for cancereven in the presence of a preexisting genetic mutation.”</i></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Walnuts Provide a Perfect Blend of Essential Nutrients</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVQs7DOxcVD9Zw6Yd7EuowGYHFrlV41QFgPCuWptMiT-QwW9WPqkTkh6klWYWcRxYhwtJxuV9rxBP8ENdiAFLM93Hefse6vgUDcpnY3R3odaNHbyci2vaFGeLHf_Y62SH3-bYC_hRDqKM0/s1600/walnuts_breastcancer_nutrie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVQs7DOxcVD9Zw6Yd7EuowGYHFrlV41QFgPCuWptMiT-QwW9WPqkTkh6klWYWcRxYhwtJxuV9rxBP8ENdiAFLM93Hefse6vgUDcpnY3R3odaNHbyci2vaFGeLHf_Y62SH3-bYC_hRDqKM0/s1600/walnuts_breastcancer_nutrie.jpg" /></a></div>Researchers noted that they wereunable to determine if the cancer prevention benefits were the result ofdeletions or additions to the diet. Until recently scientists have not fullyunderstood if the tangles were the cause or result of dementia. New evidenceexists to support the theory that amyloid plaques form as a result of adeclining ability to naturally clear the protein tangles. You know, some of the folks on those Beachbody DVD's, some of the guys and gals at your local gym, etc.? Does it seem maybe kind of hard for you to get that way? Maybe you think its too complicated?</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">In an article by Tom Venuto called, "The Get Ripped Diet 'Cheat Sheet': 10 Simple Steps to Ultimate Leaness", he talked about this. Tom says that:</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">"Getting a ripped body with extremely low body fat-lean enough that you can see all of your abs-remains not only elusive to most people, it also seems complicated."</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">The truth is, Tom believes that getting ripped is very simple. Easy? Not on your life! Simple, heck yes! Following are some of the highlights from his article on the 10 steps to ulimate leaness. Be warned though; its not easy to follow this very strict diet for prolonged periods of time. However, if you stick to it for 6,8, or even 12 weeks, you will be amazed at your results!</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">With all that said, lets dive into these 10 steps:</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">1. Make sure you get an accurate count of what your caloric needs, use a conservative deficit, and carefully track your caloric intake. If you want to get busy and serious about this and have a timeline, guesswork is out the window! You have to be accurate here. Tom recommends the Katach McArdle or Harris Benedict calorie equations to determine your basal metabolic level and daily calorie maintenace level. </span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">To help you out, most men need about 2700-2900 calories a day to maintain their weight and women 2000-2100 calories a day. Your calorie deficit would be 15-20% below maintenance or deficit to lose 1 pound a week.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">2. Get enough protein. Simply put, a high protein diet is one of the keys to getting ripped. Some recommend 1 gram of protein per body pound. Tom says to get ripped like a bodybuilder or fitness model, go higher like 1.25 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound. For instance, if you are a women who weighs 140 pounds, you would need about 175 to 210 grams of protein a day.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">3. Chosse lean sources of complete protein. The good news for vegaterians and vegans, plant based proteins count too. Examples of good lean sources include chicken breast, turkey breast, lean game meats (e.g. venison, bison, etc.), white fish, egg whites and whole egges. Whey protein shakes, soy protein shakes, etc. also can help.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">4. <b>How to get lean quick</b>? Better add lots of veggies daily! Get plenty of green vegetables and other fibrous carbs. After you know what protein you will be eating for a meal, choose a fibrous carb or vegetable to go along with it. Examples of fibrous carbs include non-starch vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, green beans, spinach, cauliflower, red/green peppers, onions, mushrooms, kale, collards, etc. You will not get fat by eating a diet rich in healthy vegetable such as these!</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">5. Wisely use starchy carbs in small amounts. You don't have to give up these type of carbs because they do help keep your metabolism and training energy at peak levels. Restrict yourself and you will go insane or just totally fall off the diet plan. Examples of starhy carbs include steel cut or old fashioned oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes, white potatoes, beans, lentils, black eye peas, etc. It's best to add these carbs to your first meal of the day or to your pre and post workouts meals. </span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">6. Use the carb cycling method every 4 to 7 days. All this means is one every 4 to 7 days, eat enough calories to where you are at your maintenace level or slightly above. If you are just starting out, once per week is recommended. If you have been working out for a long time, increase your carbs every 4th day.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">7. Eat 4-6 small meals a day. This may seem challenging for some, but Tom says virtualy all bodybuilders and physique athletes prefer small, frequent meals with each containing a protein source. While one can lose weight on any number of daily meals, this just seems to work very well for most people.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">8. Eat mostly the same thing daily. I know, this sounds very boring! Keep in mind, though, that this isn't something you will do forever, Plus, the truth of the matter is that most physique athletes eat just about the same thing daily. It's easier to prepare the food this way, you will know exactly what you'll need when you shop, and it makes the diet simple.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">9. Have a written meal plan. Remember, no guesswork is allowed! In your meal plan creations, include the food name, serving size or weight, calories, protein, carbs, and fat. This also will help alleviate calorie counting every day if you already have written down the nutritional information for your meals. There are also online sources to assist you in this area.</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">10. Pay attention and document your results. This includes measure results, make the necessary changes along the way, and adjustments as needed. Tom calls this the feedback loop system or "cybernectic system." You have to track and zero in on your ultimate goal: to get ripped and drop all that excess body fat! This means monitoring your weight, body fat, measurements, appearance, how clothes fit. Not like what you see? Then make changes whether it be to your workouts, meal frequencies, what you are eating, etc. The bottom line is that if you stay focused, you will be able to drop those pounds and fat!</span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;"><br /></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: x-small;">Now that you have learned all this, <b>how to get lean quick</b> doesn't seem such a mystery anymore does it?! Getting the ultimate lean look is simple, but not easy! But, if you follow all 10 steps here, you will be able to lose the weight, fat, and feel great!</span><br /><br />Looking for more tips on how to get lean quick and ultra thin? Depending on your height, a healthy weight gain of about 25 to 35 pounds is expected during pregnancy. But after the baby is born, many new moms are anxious to return as quickly as possible to their pre-pregnancy weight. This is not the time, however, to be experimenting with fad diets or radical changes in eating habits. Having a new member of the family, no matter how joyful an occasion it is, adds stress to a new mother's life. Sleepless nights, new responsibilities, and changing worries require excellent nutrition to assure you stay in peak health.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">According to the Mayo Clinic, it takes plenty of healthy food, regular exercise, and a lot of patience to successfully lose the weight you gained during your pregnancy. There is nothing unique to this advice; it is the same advice given for any successful weight loss program. We have all been programmed to want instant results, but finding a way to be a peace with long-term weight loss plan is essential to success. You can avoid frustration by accepting that it will take months rather than weeks to accomplish your weight loss goals. Just keep reminding yourself that it will happen, it just takes a little time!</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Although studies are inconclusive about breastfeeding and weight loss, many believe it promotes a faster return to pre-pregnancy weight. The health benefits to the baby are enormous and it allows you to add about 300 calories to your daily intake of food. Breastfeeding moms have to be sure to get adequate nutrition, not just calories, but high quality nutrients. These come from a variety of vegetables and fruits, whole grains and lean sources of protein. Calcium and other minerals are of great importance while pregnant and breastfeeding.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Many new moms enjoy exercise routines that include the baby. Safe jogging and walking strollers assure that baby is well protected while mom burns calories. There are also wonderful bicycle trailers designed for children. Whatever workout routine you choose, be sure you spend at least three days a week exercising. Increasing all activity helps burn calories. Replace short car trips with walking, spend time in the garden, or take the stairs rather than the elevator. Every step you add to your day increases calorie output.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Increasing your water intake has been shown to speed weight loss while preventing dehydration. Especially if you are nursing, drink plenty of water. There is no need to buy bottled water. Get a good stainless steel water bottle and fill it up with filtered tap water. You'll be doing your part in saving the environment while you promote your health and weight loss.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">If you are seeking an easy<b> how to lose weight plan</b> to follow after having your baby, just follow the tips as outlined in this post. You will see that the pounds will come off!</div><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">Train Hard! How can this be? Well, all you have to do is simply eat a light lunch daily. When you do this, calorie intake is cut. The good thing about this is that not only are calories cut, but researchers also found that participants in the study did not compensate by eating more calories later in the day! The study involved a group of 17 volunteers and lasted five weeks. Over this time period, all participants tracked everything they ate along with the calorie content of the food.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">During the first week of the study, all the participants could eat whatever they wanted and recorded their food choices. Over the next two weeks, one group continued with consuming whatever they wished, while the second group ate a portion controlled lunch. At the end of the two weeks, the groups switched. Now, the group who had eaten as they pleased for three weeks spent the final two weeks choosing portion controlled lunches.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">The researchers found that on average, the portion control group ate 250 fewer calories per day compared to the time when they ate as they pleased. Although this may not sound like a significant number of calories, continuing with this routine for a year could lead to a 25 pound weight loss. Combined with other strategies including an increase in exercise, one's weight loss could be considerably more than 25 pounds.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">One great advantage to using this simple dieting plan to lose weight is that it achieves a gradual weight loss. Numerous studies have found that a slow and steady drop in weight generally leads to successfully keeping the weight off. The greatest hazard of quick weight loss plans is the disappointing rebound in weight gain when you stop the diet. Learning and maintaining new habits, like eating a smaller lunch, are easy when there is no pain involved. A smaller lunch doesn't lead to cravings or feelings of deprivation. Therefore, it can become a life-long habit. Acquiring long-term healthy habits is what successful dieters want to achieve. Replacing habits that encouraged weight gain with ones that promote weight loss and improved health are the key to successful weight loss.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">Another advantage is the low cost of implementing this strategy. You don't have to buy special, high-priced diet foods. Just be mindful of portions each day at lunch. If you go a step beyond, making lunch the time to get the bulk of your daily servings of fruits and vegetables, you'll be eating fewer calories and boosting your nutritional intake at the same time.</div><div style="line-height: 1.5em; margin-bottom: 1em; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;">If you follow these simple weight loss strategies, you will be well on your way to achieving your goals! Researchers <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3022059/?tool=pubmed">writing</a> in the <i>Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition</i> found that the naturally occurring cellular antioxidant, alpha lipoic acid has the ability to correct abnormal insulin signaling and resistance that are known to promote disease development.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Lipoic acid is shown to rejuvenate energy production in the critical mitochondria and enhance the metabolism of sugars and carbohydrates to restore proper insulin activity. The result of this study demonstrates that the cofactor compound provides a critical link between the <a href="http://myoptimalhealthresource.blogspot.com/search/label/Antioxidants">antioxidant</a> status within a cell and normal insulin function. When insulin becomes resistant or ineffective due to the stress of continually high levels of blood glucose, metabolism suffers and diabetes is the end result.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Researchers found that r-alpha lipoic acid (100 mg daily) influences cellular antioxidant nutrients and enzymes. The compound was shown to have a profound influence on these critical protective structures so a perfectly efficient balance was restored that allowed them to perform optimally. As a result, proper gene signaling was restored and insulin and glucose metabolism improved. The study was the first to show that insulin regulation in a cell is closely controlled by antioxidant status, and antioxidant deterioration through poor diet and lifestyle trigger metabolic syndrome and diabetes. Alpha lipoic acid helps to restore cellular antioxidant synergy and can stave off diabetes.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Acetyl-L-Carnitine Inhibits the Formation of Amyloid Brain Tangles</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzFYT_0tsx0M872-cIX0z943qntTm4vYTg1OoFNaPBP4uDpvXPUsnOPrv8RYSAA1_ViSxSmr2KBzKZLx6-YsBDWDsiJz0FIvpHieBXT0zn-Pm2QZGVy8f2oy1NPwVAxioalCSDafajiF3u/s1600/diabetes_lipoic-carn_brain.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzFYT_0tsx0M872-cIX0z943qntTm4vYTg1OoFNaPBP4uDpvXPUsnOPrv8RYSAA1_ViSxSmr2KBzKZLx6-YsBDWDsiJz0FIvpHieBXT0zn-Pm2QZGVy8f2oy1NPwVAxioalCSDafajiF3u/s1600/diabetes_lipoic-carn_brain.jpg" /></a></div>In addition to the amazing health benefits experienced by people supplementing with alpha lipoic acid, another naturally occurring nutrient is showing the ability to boost mood, improve cognitive function and help retain memory loss as we age. Researchers <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21689104">writing</a> in the <i>Journal Neurochemistry</i> documents the precise mechanism that acetyl-l-carnitine (500 mg, twice daily) exhibits to help prevent the formation of brain tangles that are the hallmark of Alzheimer`s disease.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Scientists found that mice supplemented with acetyl-l-carnitine for a period of two weeks protects against the formation of the tau protein tangles that are a hallmark in the development of the memory-robbing form of dementia. While tau proteins are a normal part of nerve cell construction, they are known to accumulate in a hyperactive fashion that can result in cognitive decline and memory loss. Acetyl-l carnitine helps tau proteins behave properly by interceding at the gene and molecular level to prevent dementia and memory decline.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Nature has bestowed us with a multitude of natural compounds that are particularly effective in promoting human health. Somehow I miscalculated or mixed things up. When I went to the gym tonight, it was time to do my weigh in and measurements, and Aimee (my Zumba instructor) was telling me how proud of me she was that I was keeping the weight off. So I began telling her a little about the products and that was when she showed me my chart where she had recorded everything and this is what I wrote down to share with you:<br /><br />1. When I first came to the gym, I could hardly move, I could only walk 20 minutes on the treadmill -- I weighed 211 pounds.<br /><br />2. Then 19 weeks later I weighed in at 147 pounds. I was shocked! I knew that I had lost the weight fast but I didn't realize it was that fast! Ao my records are totally wrong and I am sorry about that. I know it is important for us to have the right information for the program. I discovered from looking at her chart that in the first few weeks I was losing 9, 7, and 6 pounds a week. It was toward the last few weeks that my weight slowed to 3, 2, or 1 pound a week.<br /><br />3. I went from a tight size 20 to a comfortable size 8. But do you want to know what really shocked me? It was the total inches I had lost in those 19 weeks: I lost a total of 52 3/4 inches. I was so excited! She told me that was just unreal, and almost unheard of, to lose that many inches.<br /><br />She and I are going to meet next week to talk about the products! <b>We really do shrink!</b> :-)<br /><br />I just wanted to share that with you. Tocotrienols are so critical that new research demonstrates a shortage of these vitamin isomers can lead to premature chromosomal telomere shortening and reduced lifespan.<br /><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3085479/?tool=pubmed">Reporting</a> in the <i>Journal of Biomedicine and Biotechnology</i>, researchers show that tocotrienols can extend the length of the zipper-like genetic strands and protect against DNA damage. Natural food sources for tocotrienols are few, so it may be necessary to supplement with this vital nutrient to reap the amazing vascular and life-extending benefits.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Telomere Length Determines the Ultimate Lifespan of a Cell</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDScgvOrNwclH21uXv7ZmYJ0F-HIiJBkBo8OwCSRGbcs06LO-tVjbYxf6Fe7FJdzu7tYD6N0cmlMZJUSeycgnODeqDu9w8VB98AJoxtYYH7nXGrNxWVi5dWeMOfD7HDFK-R9CkoAW1EFQU/s1600/vitamin_e_toco_telomere.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDScgvOrNwclH21uXv7ZmYJ0F-HIiJBkBo8OwCSRGbcs06LO-tVjbYxf6Fe7FJdzu7tYD6N0cmlMZJUSeycgnODeqDu9w8VB98AJoxtYYH7nXGrNxWVi5dWeMOfD7HDFK-R9CkoAW1EFQU/s1600/vitamin_e_toco_telomere.jpg" /></a></div>The length of a telomere determines how many times a cell can accurately split in the body’s never ending quest to repair itself and eliminate rogue cells that can lead to cancer. Typically cells will divide between 30 and 50 times during a lifetime, a number that varies depending on the cell type. Any mechanism that can prolong the frequency a cell requires to split or can extend the length of the telomere will provide a youth-enhancing extension that down regulates the risk for <a href="http://myoptimalhealthresource.blogspot.com/search/label/Cancer">cancer</a>.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Telomeres are prematurely shortened by free radical attacks and negative lifestyle habits such as smoking, poor diet and lack of physical activity. The result of the <i>Journal of Biomedicine and Biotechnology</i> study found that the tocotrienol form of vitamin E enabled human cells to undergo telomere lengthening by rejuvenating telomerase, an enzyme known to preserve telomere structure and length. The study also found that tocotrienols prevented damage to delicate DNA strands and allowed the cells to rejuvenate, significantly lowering the risk of cancerous mutations that accumulate over many decades.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Vitamin E Tocotrienols Improve Lipid Biomarkers to Prevent a Heart Attack</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8GcUHTi80wznkCNx5BsfSots0XpHFhQ6fWROoLT5Vlrs8FkpVmaTaW0j3MvXc6CnXS5qmpywjOyKcEMasLUv6qUzrOfa5hZcyFFXgOT-TZ3QgwK2YDtguQbUU7_ffIIUicvgYT7dkzxKG/s1600/vitamin_e_toco_heart.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8GcUHTi80wznkCNx5BsfSots0XpHFhQ6fWROoLT5Vlrs8FkpVmaTaW0j3MvXc6CnXS5qmpywjOyKcEMasLUv6qUzrOfa5hZcyFFXgOT-TZ3QgwK2YDtguQbUU7_ffIIUicvgYT7dkzxKG/s1600/vitamin_e_toco_heart.jpg" /></a></div>A supporting body of research published in the <a href="http://www.nutritionandmetabolism.com/content/pdf/1743-7075-8-42.pdf">journal</a> <i>Nutrition and Metabolism</i> found that supplementing with tocotrienols (160 mg per day for 6 months) markedly lowered the oxidized LDL lipid profile of adults over the age of 50. The study further determined that a damaging cause of free radicals known as advanced glycation end products (AGE`s) was reduced by the potent antioxidant properties exhibited by the vitamin sub fraction. AGE`s are known to escalate the risks associated with vascular disease (heart disease, stroke and congestive heart failure) and vitamin E tocotrienols provide significant support to halt the development of these deadly conditions.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Tocotrienols are rapidly emerging as a natural nutrient that can provide an invisible shield against chronic diseases that plague many aging adults. They can be found in many foods ranging from nuts and seeds to cold pressed oils, but most health-minded people will want to supplement to ensure a full range of all eight essential forms. In addition to traditional vitamin E listed on many multi-vitamins, be sure to supplement with a full-range formulation that lists all tocotrienols individually to maintain vascular health and lower cancer risk.</div>Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03173969414034014284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9184725760785172934.post-43155615845867300182011-10-03T06:05:00.000-07:002011-11-24T08:58:38.341-08:00Grape Seed Extract Compounds Protect Against Alzheimer’s Disease Development<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqAzjEMDY4IjZNpT025Qh5vnM0X5OgliRR98yHkkuONebpRd04bBzrdJ5XPeCq7E8a9aSQeByB570NiULrWoBcg7Kfp1Ypg1Es46Fa5FE3enq1HCcMULyZk5PLeVvE8FEkOwVwK8eQf7fW/s1600/grapes_dementia_main.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqAzjEMDY4IjZNpT025Qh5vnM0X5OgliRR98yHkkuONebpRd04bBzrdJ5XPeCq7E8a9aSQeByB570NiULrWoBcg7Kfp1Ypg1Es46Fa5FE3enq1HCcMULyZk5PLeVvE8FEkOwVwK8eQf7fW/s1600/grapes_dementia_main.jpg" /></a></div>Researchers publishing the result of a <a href="http://www.j-alz.com/issues/26/vol26-4.html">study</a> in the <i>Journal of Alzheimer`s Disease</i> found that eating grapes and supplementing with grape seed extract compounds help to prevent the development and progression of Alzheimer`s dementia. This devastating form of dementia is characterized by the accumulation of beta-protein clusters in the brain known as oligomers.<br /><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br />A wealth of prior research studies conclude that excess oligomers poison neurons in the brain and <i><span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-style: normal;"></span></i>cause memory loss associated with the disease. Using mice that have been bred to genetically develop <a href="http://myoptimalhealthresource.blogspot.com/search/label/Alzheimer%27s%20Disease">Alzheimer’s disease</a>, scientists set to determine the effect of grape polyphenols on cognitive decline. For a period of five months they added GSPE to a standard diet and tested the mice for signs of memory deterioration normally found in this line of transgenic animals.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">After the five month period, researchers found that the mice had dramatically lowered levels of alpha beta-56, a specific form of oligomer previously implicated in the promotion of Alzheimer`s disease memory loss. They found that supplemented grape seed extract halted the progression of cognitive decline by helping the brain to clear excess levels of the beta protein implicated with the disease. Dr. Giulio Maria Pasinetti, lead study researcher from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York found the <a href="http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/07/110715135211.htm">results</a> <i>“strongly suggest that GSPE should be further tested as a potential prevention and/or therapy for AD Alzheimer`s Disease.”</i></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><i> </i> </div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Specific Nutrients, Fruits and Vegetables from Diet Impede Dementia Development</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO12mWAw2zBhB_dT9sjX-xBajgi353KQfpjrW_LaimpDJikkfcCp5eLZwm8L_Dexn66sKculObhyphenhyphenMC8ocSuungGWr6teIi9OXqmTDIfWM5EocvRGv2QDl6fueYE0ZIV_RvkISoWCosNHbq/s1600/grapes_dementia_vegs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO12mWAw2zBhB_dT9sjX-xBajgi353KQfpjrW_LaimpDJikkfcCp5eLZwm8L_Dexn66sKculObhyphenhyphenMC8ocSuungGWr6teIi9OXqmTDIfWM5EocvRGv2QDl6fueYE0ZIV_RvkISoWCosNHbq/s1600/grapes_dementia_vegs.jpg" /></a></div>The result of supportive research studies demonstrating the critical importance of natural nutrients to prevent Alzheimer`s disease are <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2931824/">published</a> in a prior edition of the <i>Journal of Alzheimer`s Disease</i>. The study focuses on `neuronutrition` to determine the impact of vitamins, minerals and nutrients from many vegetables and fruits to alter the chemistry of the brain and halt degenerative disease. In addition to a calorie restricted diet, the authors cite vitamin E, dietary polyphenols (including GSPE and resveratrol), curcumin, spices and homocysteine reduction. </div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Researchers conducting this exhaustive study concluded “diets rich in unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants, and wine likely suppress its (Alzheimer`s disease) onset. This only led to yo-yo dieting and disappointment.<br /><br />In my late thirties, I gave birth to our youngest child and about a year and a half later underwent major surgery. Because I was unable to be active after my surgery for months, compounded with an already under active thyroid, I really began to pack on the pounds. It was during this time I was introduced to the Vitamark Products.<br /><br />I fell in love with them instantly! They were convenient, easy to add to my existing diet and tasted great. I loved that for the first time, I didn't have to eat prepackaged foods, prepare two meals (one for me and one for the family) or eat foods I didn't like to lose those unwanted pounds. <a href="http://www.vitamark.com/appetizerdiet/" style="color: #0000cc;" target="_blank">Appetizer Diet® Cookies and Shakes</a> are so easy to use as a meal replacement or snack. Researchers found that nuts eaten as part of a healthy diet can lower serum blood glucose and lipids to lower long-term blood sugar control as measured by the HbA1C blood test. Grab a big handful of almonds, walnuts, pecans or macadamias to ward off diabetes and metabolic syndrome, devastating conditions currently evolving to threaten human health and longevity.<br /><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Nut Consumption Improves Long Term Blood Sugar Control to Prevent Diabetes</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZO8YXj4Sr7VgdqT3KeaPmlA5qZTBWwBK0_DX6JCWzpVFBlBtySmVInRuHvqEzpoQFl-Ia0qo7qNQpUgSVNwMpc6VtLPZOQMnyYBQDVncuSxkvV4vc1nhMnHFviUMfcroediYzcfnqZEqY/s1600/nuts_diabetes_prevent_blood.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZO8YXj4Sr7VgdqT3KeaPmlA5qZTBWwBK0_DX6JCWzpVFBlBtySmVInRuHvqEzpoQFl-Ia0qo7qNQpUgSVNwMpc6VtLPZOQMnyYBQDVncuSxkvV4vc1nhMnHFviUMfcroediYzcfnqZEqY/s1600/nuts_diabetes_prevent_blood.jpg" /></a></div>The study was setup by creating three groups among subjects with Type II diabetes. The first group was given high carbohydrate muffins, the second received a mixture of <a href="http://myoptimalhealthresource.blogspot.com/search/label/Nuts">nuts</a> including raw almonds, pistachios, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, peanuts, cashews, and macadamias, and the final group was given a mixture of muffins and nuts. The groups receiving nuts were supplemented with two ounces each day that replaced a carbohydrate-rich dietary food item.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">All subjects were tested for changes in long-term blood glucose saturation using the industry standard glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) test. Subjects receiving the nut-only dietary supplement demonstrated the greatest improvement in the HbA1c test as well as a reduction in oxidized low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL cholesterol). Both groups receiving muffins showed no improvement in HbA1c, but the nut-muffin combination group did experience an improvement in LDL cholesterol.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Nuts Include Healthy Monounsaturated Fats and Powerful Antioxidants</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-5lUwFo6kRLiORu7h69Q0lMJ0wRXUDUgSLTraGbrwULxFgeOPfrhE2j0iYRQ9Qkn4V1LIZgt1x8hzMgF074QnBYpm6jmNji02UIKC6X5D-ZbZCjoZmUrLUUC6yyEf6vpUWz1W94MdPLob/s1600/nuts_diabetes_prevent_olive.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-5lUwFo6kRLiORu7h69Q0lMJ0wRXUDUgSLTraGbrwULxFgeOPfrhE2j0iYRQ9Qkn4V1LIZgt1x8hzMgF074QnBYpm6jmNji02UIKC6X5D-ZbZCjoZmUrLUUC6yyEf6vpUWz1W94MdPLob/s1600/nuts_diabetes_prevent_olive.jpg" /></a></div>The group receiving the full-dose two ounce daily serving of nuts reduced their HbA1c readings by two-thirds the level considered to be a meaningful marker by the FDA. This result is very significant to those currently diagnosed as diabetic as well as the millions of pre-diabetic men, women and children that may be able to prevent full onset of the disease. The research team leader, Dr. David Jenkins of the University of Toronto <a href="http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/07/110712094201.htm">concluded</a> <i>“Mixed, unsalted, raw, or dry-roasted nuts have benefits for both blood glucose control and blood lipids and may be used as part of a strategy to improve diabetes control without weight gain.”</i> Those following a natural lifestyle will choose non-irradiated nut sources that have not been processed or altered in any fashion.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Researchers believe that the unique mix of monounsaturated fats and phenolic compounds naturally occurring in most nuts is responsible for the glycemic control and lipid profile improvements experienced by the diabetic participants. Furthermore, nuts have not been found to contribute to weight gain in this report or other studies, making this tasty food an ideal choice for weight management goals and long-term diabetes risk reduction.</div>Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03173969414034014284noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9184725760785172934.post-90352812085729836952011-09-26T05:36:00.000-07:002011-11-24T08:58:38.546-08:00Vitamin D Alters Brain Proteins to Protect Against Alzheimer’s Disease<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg76KCvjW7PwY7LAdcCUYeJ_iW_UY3R-6l1_r2c81wzUbqJc6p_PnMg-1Uoz-SExSjWc77AoWUColPHhKwlLTd9DBuH2naUROY06m_2C8lQL_PnvpaA4U98ALUiPycw8rxcoCGu6SgjM14L/s1600/vitamin_d_alzheimers_main.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg76KCvjW7PwY7LAdcCUYeJ_iW_UY3R-6l1_r2c81wzUbqJc6p_PnMg-1Uoz-SExSjWc77AoWUColPHhKwlLTd9DBuH2naUROY06m_2C8lQL_PnvpaA4U98ALUiPycw8rxcoCGu6SgjM14L/s1600/vitamin_d_alzheimers_main.jpg" /></a></div>Advanced age and the build-up of amyloid beta protein clumps on brain structures are the clinical manifestation leading to the devastating form of dementia known as Alzheimer`s disease. Breaking research published in the <a href="http://www.fluidsbarrierscns.com/content/8/1/21/abstract">journal</a> <i>Fluids and Barriers of the CNS</i> provides crucial evidence that vitamin D influences transporter proteins that help clear the naturally occurring proteins from the brain.<br /><br />Vitamin D has been found to profoundly alter the development and progression of many diseases including cancer, heart disease and diabetes. We can now add Alzheimer`s disease to the list. Obtaining vitamin D from natural sunlight or supplementing with the prohormone should be considered mandatory for all health-minded people wishing to lower chronic disease risk.<br /><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Vitamin D Prevents Amyloid Plaque Buildup in the Brain</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTj4p7wunOcVtjDQVnCRJKwAIlMZc8EO2GDoi9Dqwb9FvfSZ8MZz1dXxObdmXUHvfLRG8a-UfneCusBzsCGZOs3bbTiLEJe49mgbgYDIR9x5kirCnvuRRbcHHh1r4wH0xtXukiFmKxuQ_f/s1600/vitamin_d_alzheimers_tangle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTj4p7wunOcVtjDQVnCRJKwAIlMZc8EO2GDoi9Dqwb9FvfSZ8MZz1dXxObdmXUHvfLRG8a-UfneCusBzsCGZOs3bbTiLEJe49mgbgYDIR9x5kirCnvuRRbcHHh1r4wH0xtXukiFmKxuQ_f/s1600/vitamin_d_alzheimers_tangle.jpg" /></a></div>Researchers constructing this study used mice genetically predisposed to develop <a href="http://myoptimalhealthresource.blogspot.com/search/label/Alzheimer%27s%20Disease">dementia</a>, and the animals were injected with vitamin D. It was determined that amyloid beta accumulation was selectively inhibited and special transporter proteins cleared the damaging amyloid before it could accumulate. The brain has developed an intricate array of special transporter proteins known as LRP-1 and P-gp that have been shown to usher amyloid protein across the blood-brain barrier before causing damage.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The lead research author, Professor Tetsuya Terasaki from Tohoku University in Japan <a href="http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/07/110709113610.htm">commented</a> <i>“"Vitamin D appears to increase transport of amyloid beta across the blood brain barrier (BBB) by regulating protein expression, via the vitamin D receptor, and also by regulating cell signaling via the MEK pathway. These results lead the way towards new therapeutic targets in the search for prevention of Alzheimer`s disease."</i></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: #fff2cc; text-align: justify;"><b>Blood Testing is Essential to Normalize Vitamin D Levels</b></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjObPwwr9ydbRV8q840pIWCy8yNumMfIYdR3cEXGhzXrHVq9Ma32Dm9z-GxgMbsi_sXbFtHORLbxW6qcMSJ00pLM_gcIwHkLdgLfIs7dSRztGNaAwneHJP4Z-yuxd3tzwTmQJrZEY3Jycbf/s1600/vitamin_d_alzheimers_draw.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjObPwwr9ydbRV8q840pIWCy8yNumMfIYdR3cEXGhzXrHVq9Ma32Dm9z-GxgMbsi_sXbFtHORLbxW6qcMSJ00pLM_gcIwHkLdgLfIs7dSRztGNaAwneHJP4Z-yuxd3tzwTmQJrZEY3Jycbf/s1600/vitamin_d_alzheimers_draw.jpg" /></a></div>The research team believes that vitamin D helps to transport amyloid beta protein structures across the delicate blood-brain barrier so the clusters can be released into the cerebral spinal fluid for eventual disposal. The function of this mechanism is known to decline in aging humans and animals, allowing buildup of the sticky protein clusters around the neuronal synapses. Scientists have observed that vitamin D levels are typically low in aging adults when diagnosed with Alzheimer`s disease, and can now make the connection between blood saturation levels and the disease.</div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The study authors do not provide a vitamin D reference level that produced the results in this study. Many prior studies have demonstrated that the optimal blood level of the prohormone is between 50 ng/ml and 80 ng/ml to dramatically lower the risk from many cancer lines. Most health conscious adults will need to supplement with an oil-based vitamin D supplement to achieve this goal and attain protection from this deadly form of dementia.</div><span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-size: 11pt; line-height: 115%;"></span>Juliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03173969414034014284noreply@blogger.com0
